What's in the Box

When you receive your Tauro Collar, the package should include the following components:

  • 1 x Tauro Collar Housing
  • 1 x Battery Pack with PCBA
  • 1 x micro-SD Card
  • 1 x micro-SD Card Adapter
  • 4 x M6 Button Head Screws
  • 1 x 3mm Hex Key
  • 1 x Counterweight

Getting Started

To get started with your Tauro Collar, follow these steps:

  1. Plugin the battery pack connector into the Tauro Collar.
  2. Charge the Collar: Before first use, ensure the collar is fully charged using the USB-C connector. As the battery is quite large, the initial charge may take up to 10 hours to complete.
  3. Plugin the micro-SD card into the Tauro Collar and ensure it is properly seated, then unplug and replug the battery pack connector to allow the device to recognize the SD card.
  4. Power On: On successful power up, the LED indicator will Green 3 times.
Note: If the red LED flashes 3 times, this indicates a problem with the SD card connection. Please ensure the SD card is properly inserted.

  1. Plugin the solar panels to the solar connector ensuring a secure fit. Ensure the PCBA is seating on the mounting pins of the battery pack, there should be velcro dots to help hold it in place.
  2. Insert the battery and PCBA assembly into the collar housing, the notches on the battery pack should align with the tab inside the collar housing.

  1. Close the collar housing by pressing the two halves together firmly, then flip and insert the 4x M6 button head screws through the neck pad and into the threaded inserts of the collar housing. Tighten using a 3mm hex key. Do not overtighten as this may damage the collar housing.

  1. It is good to check the Tauro Portal to ensure the device is reporting correctly, you will need to take the collar outside in order to get a GPS fix and test the solar charging functionality.
  2. Install the Tauro Collar around your animal's neck using the counterweight, ensuring a comfortable fit.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Tauro Collar, refer to the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Device Not Powering On: Ensure the battery pack is properly connected and charged. Check the LED indicator for status.
  • No GPS Signal: Make sure the collar is outside with a clear view of the sky. It may take a few minutes to acquire a GPS fix.
  • Data Not Syncing: Verify that the micro-SD card is properly inserted and functioning. Check the Tauro Portal for connectivity status.
  • Solar Charging Issues: Ensure the solar panels are clean and unobstructed. Check the connections to the solar connector.
